STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

Students are expected to:

á      Be on time and dressed in the GVJH PE uniform with appropriate athletic shoes

á      Have a separate, organized PE portfolio and a writing utensil

á      Participate to the best of ability and give 100% effort

á      Display appropriate social behavior at all times

á      Respect the studentŐs right to learn and the teacherŐs right to teach

á      Follow all of the Locker Room Rules Đ usage of the Locker Room is a PRIVILEGE and may be taken away if abused!!!

 

DRESS POLICY

All students are required to dress in the GVJH PE uniform every day for class.            

á      GVJH PE shirt and shorts (or other plain gray shirt or black shorts)

á      Supportive athletic shoes laced tightly (no sandals, platform, or open back shoes)

á      Black sweat pants or gray sweatshirt for cold or rainy days

*  Students will be required to wear loaner clothes if they forget their uniform.  Students will be given one loaner per quarter without being penalized.

* No hats, sunglasses, jewelry, street clothes, visible boxer shorts, or jackets are permitted when participating in physical activity.

 

DISCIPLINARY CONSEQUENCES

Students may be subject to any of the following disciplinary actions in order to be held accountable for poor behavior:

1.     Verbal warning

2.     Parent contact/detention

3.     Reduction of citizenship grade/scholarship grade

4.     Class suspension

5.     Referral to Assistant Principal

 

MEDICAL EXCUSES

  1. Students may be excused from PE for medical reason for up to 3 consecutive days with a parent note/email/phone call.  A doctorŐs note is required for extended illness/injury beyond 3 days.
  2. A medical note does not excuse a student from attending class, dressing out, or participating in activities that he/she can safely complete.

 

ABSENCES

Students are required to make up all excused and medical absences.  It is the STUDENTŐS responsibility to consult with their teacher for all make-up work.
