ABOUT THE PTA

The Goleta Valley Junior High School PTA is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the educational opportunities at Goleta Valley Junior High School. We have an active PTA membership that provides many of the services and programs that benefit the families and faculty at Goleta Valley which include:

Care & Share Dances Directory Display Case Fundraising Health & Safety Honorary Service Awards Hospitality Legislative Representatives Membership Meetings (with guest speakers!) ------------------------------------------------ and much much more!!

WHY PTA MEMBERSHIP?

• Free GVJHS Directory –– a very useful tool for parents and students! 
• Privilege to vote on all matters of concern to the local PTA, California PTA, and National PTA; to attend and participate in any state or nationally sponsored meeting; and to hold office.
• PTA can provide a unified attack on major problems and a unified push to improve legislation.
• PTA cooperates with other state and national organizations concerned with family and child-orientated programs.  The  assistance of experts from all over the country is at your disposal.
• Most laws affecting the welfare of children are made at the state level. As part of the state and National PTA, the local units extend their influence  beyond their neighborhood and help secure state and national action for the benefit of all children.
• PTA speaks for all children in all parts of the state and nation.
• PTA has a name - PTA has been around since 1897 as a powerful force working for children. When you join the PTA, you immediately become a member of both the state and national organizations as well as your local unit.  It is through membership in the California State and National PTAs that you, GVJHS PTA, and, most  importantly, your children will benefit.
